So as some of you may know, yesterday was Remy's and my one-year anniversary. Well, day before that at this point.... I'm still going on the theory that it sin't tomorrow until you've slept, which we haven't yet. And it has been, by far, the best year I've ever had. So we went out to dinner to Holmes and Watson, where we had our first "just us" date, and it was lovely. It pleases me. And yes, we're just as nauseating as we were a year ago. And just as happy. And this will continue for a very long time.... I don't think there will be any more on that though. I don't really feel like being all that nauseating tonight.

It's been a long time since being with someone that likes doing anniversary type things. I like it. And I think there was only one other.

Today we went out with my father, and he bought me some late Xmas presents--lots and lots of oil paints, and Remy, being Remy, got me the easel I've been coveting for several years. The one that folds up into a little case to hold paints and brushes and the pallette. And we took Dad to Famous Lunch, where he was actually impressed by the coffee, and the fact that the place really does look like it's still 1932.

And my book of nudes came finally! Yay! There are a couple I'm contemplating using for some painting ideas, like this woman tied up to a cross and looking faintly distressed. There are also some lovely images of very old undergarments. Yeah, I look at nidie pics for costume ideas. Go figure. But what the hell. There were also some shots of Josephine Baker. :)

And one other thing. I started working on a sketch for the painting I want to do from the photo, and it's turning out really well. I didn't even have to use the eraser. All her muscles seem to be in the right places, and connect more or less properly, and I'm so far quite pleased. And here I didn't know I could properly draw a human figure. Yay! And I did a sketch from a friend's book on the opera from like 1910 or so, and it turned out decently. I'm not as happy with that one, though.

Yeah, and I'm the dumbass that missed Henry Rollins because though I now have a thing that keeps track of the hours, I still have no idea what *day* it is.

Damn it.
