My computer works now! Well, mostly, I think. I think there's probably still something wrong with the CD Rom, it hasn't been recognising it. But I have a fully functioning monitor now, stripe free. Apples bought a new video card for the computer he's left here (the TV computer, networked in, so we can watch teh movies that are on the various computers here) and had no use for the old video card, so he gave it to me. Tecjnically I guess it isn't as good, as the other one was a 3D accellerator, and this one is not. (thus it also lacks a fan. Feh. I liked the fan. :) ) But you know, there's a good deal to be said for something that still works over something that doesn't. I don't knwo what's wrong with the old one, but this one fixed the problem, and in the process of testing things, and thinking I'd somehow burned the old monitor, I managed to get Remy's parents' old one, so it's also much newer and better than the old one. And if I can get a speaker cord, I can have two speakers instead of one. But this one's pretty good, and I like it. So it's not desperate.

And we get heating oil tomorrow. Woohoo! Heat! Warm! Not fearing the toilet seat!

Now back to the regularly scheduled paper writing....

Perhaps when I've finished a little more school? It might be an acceptable idea.

Wait, what am I saying? It's so much hotter there!

And how are the medieval and art history departments there, at grad level? Like conservation stuff. And are there any smiths I could apprentice under?

But really, today that looks like a very good idea.

Actually, for us here is only a temporary thing. I should graduate by next December. (Should have been May, but I'm withdrawing this semester because of the surgery and stuff). Then we're heading off to Bloomington, Indiana. I'm not sure how their undergraduate departments are, but their law school is great, and they have an ethnomusicology and recording program that Dan likes.

You're welcome to come along for the rides if you want.

I miss the collective.

Indiana is much closer. Still far and all, but closer. And I do really want to see Vegas. But I don't know how this winter is going to work. Feh.
