I had forgotten what it feels like to walk outside and feel the sun warm on my bare skin. I had forgotten how nice it is to wear only one thin layer of fabric and to have the wind blowing that about just a little. (It feels like walking around naked. :) ) And possibly most important, I had forgotten just how good a cure for bad sinuses coffee can be.

And this struck me as a good thing to spread about.

The crows were ousted at he beginning of the winter, for no good reason, from Prospect park here. I think they thought there were too many of them, or they were too loud, or something. And they were bitching that they always came back to the same place. (well duh, crows do that. They have steady homes. And they stay because we have enough munchies here to suport them. You want them to go? fine. Keep your streets clean. Personally. I like seeing them swarm like that all black and ominous over the twilight sky....) So having nowhere else to go, they descended on downtown Troy. And good god have they descended. They stained most of the front yard and surrounding walks of Russel Sage a lovely shade of splattered white. They were trying to hose it off today. Thankgoodness the statue wasnt' under the trees, as she happens to be a lovely shade of dark bronze. And you know something? Crow shit smells awful. So let them go back to the park! They werent' disturbing anyone there, and they weren't making the sidewalks all smelly and lumpy.

And I walked over snowbanks in Chinese slippers, which would have been a horrible idea if I had fallen, but I didn't. And it would have been a bad idea had I stepped in a puddle, but I dind't do that either. So it was a very nice walk, even if I can't breathe quite right.
