Mar. 8th, 2003 11:05 pmSo I have two pages done on the art history paper due on Thursday. yay me. I've been putting this off for how long? And I finished the paper for the american history class, and butchered Artemesia Gentileschi's Judith and Holofernes for my 2D class. Bah. I hate that--we're supposed to take perfectly good works of art, and decompose them into abstract, non-representational shapes. And I really think that anyone who willingly took part in that experiment should be burned for heresy. It looks passably decent, for what it is, but I really think the artist herself would throw a fit to see it. Or maybe not. It isn't art, it's pieces of construction paper rubber cemented to a larger piece of paper.
Anyway. This morning was interesting, and resulted in a crushing depression that lasted until a little while ago and I started thinking about other things. Like trying to analyze a painting that I saw once, took decent notes on, and have to try to remember the rest. Eh. Whatever it takes, I guess.
And people used to write imminent nuclear war songs in the 80s. One just came on, DI's Nuclear Funeral. (And I maintain that punks are allowed to say nukyular. They don't weild them. If you intend to use them though, you have to be able to pronounce it.) And now, we're so much closer to imminent nuclear destruction, but I don't hear any songs about it. Or maybe I'm just not listening to the right people?
