Nov. 25th, 2003 08:39 pmDamn I'm good.
I have a new chemise, almost. I have to do one more side seam, and top stitch it, then adjust the neckline to a slightly less decent lrvel.... and then do the hem. unlike my previous chemises, this one has an extra gore center front and back. and the arms fit perfectly, or are a little loose, I haven't decided yet. It's so very nice. I wanted to have it done by tonight, and at this rate I can start on the 18th century one as well.
I have four yards of 45" white cotton left, if anyone wants a chemise/undertunic. It would be about $35. I would need measurements. If not, I'll make a genericly sized one and put it on EBay. It would still have a minimum price of $30. These are so fecking easy! Or perhaps I'll encourage the girl who wants a dress to get a chemise as well.... Eh. Whatever.
I also enlarged the glove pattern I found online, and will soon have nice blabk kid gloves. And then, I will make a pair for Remy. We will be tres fashionable. I have to make mine first, as I have to experiment with it a bit. lMuslin mock-ups for us as well....
And I found the fabric I will be using to make myself stockings. Green linen-look cotton. It;s a sort of dark sage green, heavy and thick, and it should make nice warm stockings for me. :) This will be great if I ever finish the shoes I was working one. Which would be a *lot* easier if I had a good awl. Which I do not. I found a place that sells them, 15th century style. It's amazing the things you find when you're not looking for them anymore. Snark.
And I stole this from. At the top there's a link to the page where you make your own.... I love! Love the silly!
