I'm an Idiot
Nov. 6th, 2002 04:11 pmEvidently, I live under a rock.
So I was going to vote. I actually knew enough about what was going on (in some cases) to be able to justify voting (on those issues). And like an idiot, I thought it was on Thursday. I was under the impression that it's always on a Thursday. I was told it was on Thursday. It wasn't. You'd think I would have noticed somewhere on campus, but I didn't. Never saw the signs until today. 'Course, this could have something to do with being in class until 4 and then promptly walking to work and staying until 9.... And not hearing anything. I don't listen to the radio. I read the news late at night, if I get a chance, which isn't often at this point. Especially with working late. **Sigh** I don't know. This is the first election I've missed (Aside from very local politics, which I never hear about) and I'm kinda upset about this. Not that I really thinkn that my one vote would change so very much, not that I really think the polls aren't rigged, But still. I have a voice. Correction. Had.
I realize my excuses are just that, and weak and useless. So if you have any interest in criticizing me for my lack of action, don't bother.
On the bus last night I finished reading All Quiet on the Western Front. Finally. It's by far one of the mosst depressing books I've seen in a long while. What is it with professors and depressing, long novels? All at the same time!
I sent the evil prof a very long, rather scathing letter on Monday, and she responded in such a manner that it wasn't quite an appology, more of a no, I would never say that, it was all in your head.... Right. I know what I heard. She did, however, give me the clear for the fairytale paper, which is fine, having written about half of it already, and half the paper I also was going to write. And much thanks to those who sent stuff for it. Jen, if you want to send the things about the lawyer anyway, I'd love to read it. And I may write that paper anyway, as the fairytale one is going rather roughly. So I'm just doing them both. For some reasdon this struck me as a good idea. And no, I wasn't smoking anything, if I had been I most likely wouldn't have been so stupid. :)
I hate this class.

Date: 2002-11-06 07:37 pm (UTC)I understand.
Date: 2002-11-09 03:39 pm (UTC)Gabe's right... the Nevada elections were sucky, anyway. All the good stuff lost and all the bad stuff won.
Everyone ready to start taking an Oath of Allegiance to King George the First?

But when we get around to playing with the Rev War crowd, we do intend to play Tories. So by that.... Then yes, I'm swearing allegiance to my king. Or something. I think.
You didn't mean W, did you? In that case I'm all for revolution.
