Just helped one of my friends move into his new apartment. It took less than two hours, to get everything from the storage place to his place and inside. He can unpack it all, though. It’s really nice, this late 1920s hotel style apartment building in Albany. It’s a lot smaller than I thought it would be from the way he was talking about it, but it’s really pretty, and well cared for, and the windows are gorgeous. I want to use them for one of the parts of my final project for photography, unless I can get into one of the abandoned buildings here. I think I know who to contact about that…. Hope she would allow it.
I hate when Remy has to go to work on Saturdays. It's taking time we should rightfully be spending together. Nyah. But really, I did want to do some apartment type stuff, and moving large objects tends to be much easier when I have someone else here too. We have stuff for shelves now! So maybe the books will start staying off the piles on the floor as they fall off the other shelf! Riiight. So let's see.... That's sorting out the clothes to be washed and put away, and moving the futon mattress that's currently in the middle of the living room, that I though would be a regular futon but is actually a pillow on a table, setting up shelves and maybe fixing the table that sits in the hall.... Yeah, I'm so not doing that alone.
People keep giving us stuff. Some of it, I did ask for, like the milk crates and the boards, but not most of it. Please, anyone who wants to give us large objects and thinks it would be a kindness--please don't. I implore you. Having just reupholstered the couch a few months ago, I am seriously considering sending it back to my grandmother's barn, because there is no room here. And we had so much room before....
But I don’t want to do the dishes…. Or the laundry…. Or anything else really. I want to go back to bed….
