I have decided to compile a book. Not necesasrilly with any words in it, but lots and lots of photos. Ok, so there will be words, if for no other reason than to say what I've just shot, and perhaps a bit of why. It will consist entirely of places that no one can go into anymore--condemned houses, My grandmother's broken barn, things in the process of being razed....

They're taking the bronze facade top off o fthe Wellington today. Soon, they will remove the building entire. As well as the Masonic lodge beside it, and the one beside that with the huge bay windows, that I can only assumne were gorgeous, covered with green plywood. Because they want to build some new state of the art convention center. Because they can't use a building that probably had splendid ballrooms and update it. Because there aren't enough fucking convention centers in that three block radius already. Because people have no respect for beauty, craftsmanship, or class. This society has completely forgoten what it is to build anything with style. Too expensive, too much time, too inconvenient, too unappreciated by the plebes that control the world these days. I need to shoot them before they destroy the buildings, have some sort of visual record of what had been. I'll break in if I have to, but I'd rather get a permit, and possibly a guide person who knows what floors that won't bear my weight look like. And I'd probably need some sort of reason to shoot it, and a book is good enough, most like.

What can I say, I like broken things. I want to fixthem--hence the desire to go into condervation and suchlike--but I want to record the things that can't be saved as well.

I need film.
