Jan. 26th, 2004 08:06 pmSo. The Middle English class let out two hours early, because there was no way he could teach from poetry we hadn't yet read. Such is the problem of first days. It looks to be much fun though, we read little bits of Lucretius' The Way Things Are, and part of Ovid's Loves. So it's all good, we got some learning in, but damned if I know what to do with myself for the rest of the night. Almost an hour and a half before the bus leaves and I can get a ride home. Feh. Remy is not on, thus I cannot get him to find me another ride from the bus station, and by the time he did it would be the same time anyway. Wonder what he's up to? Perhaps getting food, that would be wise of him. Seeing as we don't have much.
So yes. I am bored.
Went to Medieval Women, and the class was much reduced. She advised us to go directly to the Registrar after classes to see if we could get in that way, and that cards would be given out at the end of the week for those who couldn't get in. Two people have never showed up. There were three people unregistered that showed up today, myself and one other girl were the only ones that had been there both days, and preference goes to those who never missed. But still, I'm worried. When I got to the Registrar, they said I could not sign up without a card because there was one seat left, and they couldn't assign it without giving some sort of preference to the card holders. Because other people had been trying to do the same thing, and they made it sound like hordes. I know it's sill to be so worried about things like this, it's only a class and a sixth one at that, but I really muct take this here. There is no Albany equivalent, and I kinda want to read the things that have been assigned. As much as I hate Jerome and his Against Jovinian, I'm enjoying having to read it. I want to thwap him so badly, and tell him just how and where his logic fails. So yes, I'm a much better candidate for this class than probably most of the people in it. Gar. I must get in. Wednesday I'm in another one of her classes, as well as the Medieval women, and she has office hours tomorrow, but I don't know if I really want to bother her again. Then again, I also don't want to miss out, if she's been giving out other cards. Which she probably isn't, she seems pretty fair about these things. Argh! Too much stress for one semester.
Sadly, I actually enjoy the stress. It means I'm doing things, because when I stress over things, I try to rectify the situation. It means I'm tired, but busy. The problem comes when there is a blank space were something was supposed to fit, which is suddenly left empty, and all my scurrying has been accomplished fo rthe day. Like now. Of course, I *could* be doing homework, but what fun would that be? I'd rather sit here and work on the story that is going nowhere. But I changed a character's name, so he doesn't sound as stupid. Thi sis good. But it does not advance the plot at all.
