Apr. 18th, 2003 03:34 pmA little over an hour until I go to Colonie to meet Remy, and do holiday shopping for my family. They like that sort of thing, and seem to object if it diesn't happen. Oh well. We should be able to do something they'll like, I hope....
Prospect wasn't nearly as creepy today. I ran into a guy named Jerry who was sleeping in the woods, and he asked for some money and told me all about how he's been kicked out of his place and can't get his clothes or anything, and they won't let him in until he's not drunk. He made a comment about being glad that I'm real. Which I found slightly odd, but whatever. He didn't scare me, and didn't move from his seat, though when he started talking to himself, loudly, and flailing at something that I couldn't see, it was a bit worrisome. Eh. I got a ton of photos, some of them amy have come out. I doubt that many of them are any good, compositionally, but I found some really neat things. But not Remy's trust Humphrey button. You know something? We are ridiculously easy to track. I also found a small leg trap. I took it. You never know when you'll need one, sprung and so rusted it could never work again.... It had a huge knot of roots growing through it, but by the time I had figured out what it was, the roots had been taken out, and it was no longer in its original place, so I didn't feel right about photographing it. This was supposed to be forgotten things, still half buried. And a tree that looked like a huge hand. I'm not really sure I want to know how many photos I took, there were lots. Any thime anything looked interesting, snap.... got a few of the weird little room in the cliff, and the piece of rock the kind of reminded me of Marcel Duchamp's glass paintings, but the light was different today, so it isn't the same. I'll have to try to retouch it, I think.
