Once again, our apartment is damp. Not wet or drippy or anything, just that deep basement damp. Feh. Oh well….
This weekend was nice, in that we finally managed to have some good Remy-and-Cate time. We took a long walk around Troy, which we haven’t done in a while, and should do more often. Problem is, either we’re too tired from work and standing all day long, or doing something, but it never happens. Or it’s too hot. Like yesterday.
And another thing. Do not confuse the 22 and the 24 from Albany. They both *say* Troy, but that’s the only similarity. I did, however, get a nice tour of East Greenbush and Defreestville…. Of course, it was a nearly hour-long ride, and it wasn’t air-conditioned, and the sign in Albany said it was 95 degrees outside. Oh well. I lived.
I should be working on Remy’s garb now, as I have it all cut out and such, but I really don’t feel like it at the moment. I spent most of Thursday and Friday and part of Saturday in from of the sewing machine, making a chemise I’d started in January. Possibly December. It’s almost done now, though, and it looks rather good. Yay me! I’m also working on several sketches for other pieces, both for Remy and myself. I think I’m going to get the stuff for pattern making tonight. I like doing this. I like the research that goes into the costumes, and the effort of making a working pattern, and fitting, and in a sick way it’s a lot of fun. Frustrating as all hell, but so worth it. So yeah, I think I might start seriously hiring myself out. I’m not doing embroidery, though. I am still working on the corset cover I started last year, and It’s only half dome. It’s not like there’s even that much to it. Oh well.
Current projects: (partly in the off chance that someone would care, partly to get them written down where I won’t lose them this time….)
1)Black satin dress/1940’s slip.
2)Chemise
3)Remy’s undertunic
4)Pattern for the Moy Gown (and will it even fit me?)
5)Sketches and patterns for overtunics of different varieties, surcoats, and the like
6)Corset
7)Elizabethan doublet
8)Beaded bodice on a 1980s prom dress (yay for modifications!)
9)Hose
10)Clock
I don’t think there are any others. Not at this point anyway. At least not significant ones. (As all sorts of other projects are remembered….)
Whatever.
At the beginning of May, someone found my ATM card. And used it. I didn’t find this out until I tried to close the same account, and got a balance of $35. So they looked into it, and they said it would be about a week. This was the end of May, around the 25th or so. I checked the account on-line several times, and called to ask about it, but there was never any change. Today I looked at it, and the balance was $299. Like it should be. Huzzah! :)
And now….
Getting ready for work..
